SBP Group and GSK Deepen Strategic Partnership with Another Key Move, Enhancing Patient Access to Trelegy Ellipta and Anoro in China
Release Date: 2026-07-08
On July 8, SBP Group (1177.HK) announced a further expansion of its strategic partnership with GlaxoSmithKline (LSE/NYSE: GSK), through which its core enterprise Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group (CTTQ) will conduct the commercial operations for Trelegy Ellipta (Fluticasone Furoate, Umeclidinium Bromide and Vilanterol Trifenatate Powder for Inhalation, FF/UMEC/VI) and Anoro (Umeclidinium Bromide and Vilanterol Trifenatate Powder for Inhalation, UMEC/VI) in mainland China.
Following the strategic collaboration on bepirovirsen announced in May 2026, this partnership is a significant move for both parties to expand their collaboration from liver diseases to the field of chronic respiratory disease. CTTQ is a leading company in the field of respiratory disorders. This collaboration will cover over 9,000 hospitals and primary care institutions in mainland China, further enhancing the accessibility of the two drugs and allowing more patients to benefit sooner.
Under the expanded collaboration agreement, CTTQ will be responsible for the import, distribution, hospital access, and both promotional and non-promotional activities for Trelegy Ellipta and Anoro in mainland China. GSK will continue to be the Marketing Authorization Holder (MAH) for both drugs, responsible for regulatory affairs, quality control, pharmacovigilance, and global brand strategy.
Approximately 100 million people in China suffer from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD is the third leading cause of death in China and accounts for over 30% of global COPD deaths. Asthma is one of the most common chronic respiratory diseases in China, with approximately 46 million adult asthma patients nationwide, about half of whom have poorly controlled symptoms. Trelegy Ellipta is currently the only single-inhaler triple therapy in China for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma; Anoro is a dual bronchodilator for the treatment of COPD. With COPD being included in the national basic public health service program, the importance of primary healthcare institutions in the prevention and treatment services for this disease has become increasingly prominent. Leveraging CTTQ's commercial network in mainland China, this collaboration will significantly enhance the accessibility of both drugs, supporting the standardized diagnosis, treatment, and management of COPD at the primary care level.

Chronic respiratory diseases affect the lives and well-being of millions of families and also test the ability of pharmaceutical companies to serve Chinese patients. This deepened collaboration with GSK represents a further enhancement of the accessibility of two high-quality treatment options in China, and it is another important focus point for our synergistic efforts in the field of major diseases. CTTQ will leverage its mature commercialization system and primary care network coverage in the respiratory field to more efficiently bring Trelegy Ellipta and Anoro to frontline patients. We also look forward to connecting global innovation with China's needs through open collaboration, allowing more advanced therapies to take root in China and touch more lives.

President, GSK International
China has one of the highest prevalence rates of COPD and asthma in the world. This deepened strategic partnership with CTTQ will integrate GSK's world-leading expertise in the respiratory field with CTTQ's extensive and in-depth commercial layout, enhancing drug accessibility and benefiting more patients. This collaboration is a strong demonstration of GSK's commitment to actively responding to China's key health priorities, and it will also help us better seize the opportunities for high-quality development in the Chinese market.
