Second-Generation Flurbiprofen Patches Approved for Marketing, "Star-Led, Echelon-Synergized" Strategy Creates a Dual-Star Pattern in Topical Analgesia

Release Date: 2026-08-06

On August 6, the second-generation Flurbiprofen Patches (Zepolas®) from Beijing Tide Pharmaceutical, a core enterprise of SBP Group (1177.HK), received a drug registration certificate from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and was granted a 4-year data protection period. This product, based on a new hot-melt adhesive transdermal technology platform, forms a "star-led, echelon-synergized" product matrix with the first-generation Flurbiprofen Cataplasms (Debaian/Zepolas®). It establishes diverse usage scenarios covering daily chronic pain repair and sports injury rehabilitation, further consolidating Tide Pharmaceutical's leading position in the field of topical analgesia.

Dosage Form Differentiation and Supplementation, "Rising Star" Takes the Lead

The first-generation Flurbiprofen Cataplasms (Debaian/Zepolas®) has been on the domestic market for over a decade, with cumulative global sales reaching ten billion patches. It is a star product and a key brand cornerstone for SBP Group in the topical analgesia field. Flurbiprofen Cataplasms use a hydrophilic gel matrix containing water and glycerin, providing a skin-friendly, moisturizing, and near "zero-sensitivity" application experience. Its highly elastic non-woven backing offers both breathability and stretchability, allowing it to be cut and stretched for different body parts, making it popular among people working from home and those with chronic pain management needs.

Building on the proven anti-inflammatory and analgesic value of flurbiprofen, the second-generation Flurbiprofen Patches further enhance the characteristics of being "firm, thin, and fast-acting" by improving its materials, process, and structure. The hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive technology uses a biomimetic adhesion material system, which helps maintain stable application during strenuous exercise and heavy sweating, improving drug release and transdermal efficiency. Meanwhile, the product's thickness and weight have been further reduced by over 50% and 70%, respectively.

The "first-generation star" and the "rising star" each have their own focus and complement each other, jointly addressing osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder, tendon and tenosynovitis, peritendinitis, lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), muscle pain, and swelling and pain from trauma. Among them, the first-generation cataplasm is known for being skin-friendly, moisturizing, cool, comfortable, and flexible in application. The second-generation patch focuses more on being secure, thin, and suitable for high-activity scenarios. The two can meet the diverse needs of different groups for both mobile and static body parts, providing more diverse and precise topical analgesic solutions for over 200 million chronic pain patients.

In-Depth Layout Across Multiple Fields, "Good Patches, Made by Tide"

The iterative upgrade of Flurbiprofen Patches is also a microcosm of Beijing Tide Pharmaceutical's continuous deep cultivation of the transdermal drug delivery technology platform. Currently, Beijing Tide Pharmaceutical has established a patch product layout in multiple therapeutic areas such as pain management, central nervous system, and respiratory system. It has products such as Flurbiprofen Cataplasms (Debaian®), Lidocaine Cataplasms (Debaining®), Loxoprofen Sodium Cataplasms (Deshuping®), Tulobuterol Patches (Deruituo®), Rivastigmine Transdermal Patch (Suleda®), and Rotigotine Patches (Luofeiding®), gradually building a modern transdermal preparation ecosystem that covers different diseases and patient needs.

Relying on efficient R&D, production, and commercialization capabilities, Beijing Tide Pharmaceutical has formed a large-scale production capacity of over 400 million patches per year, always adhering to the quality standard of "matching the original, surpassing the original."By 2030, SBP Group is expected to launch 14 transdermal drug delivery products, continuously consolidating SBP Group's leading position in this niche market and allowing more patients to benefit from more convenient and safer topical treatment options.
