In his speech, Acting Chief Secretary for Administration CHEUK Wing-hing expressed his gratitude for Ms. Cheng Cheung Ling's generous donation and the strong support from all sectors of society. He stated that the Mong Kok Community Living Room embodies the shared responsibility of the government, business sector, and the public to work together to build a better Hong Kong. It is sincerely hoped that the Mong Kok Community Living Room will become a vibrant "community oasis" in the Yau Tsim Mong District—a gathering place for housewives to exchange cooking skills and share daily life, a paradise for children to study and play after school, a corner for the elderly to rest and socialize, a bridge for friends of different ethnic backgrounds to get to know each other and for cultural integration, and most importantly, a warm harbor where residents in need can find help and feel cared for at any time.

In her speech, President Cheng Cheung Ling noted that Mr. Xia Baolong, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the CPC Central Committee and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, specifically inspected the Community Living Room project during his inspection tour to Hong Kong. He highly praised this benevolent initiative that "effectively addresses difficulties at the grassroots level and warms hearts" and emphasized the need to "deliver beneficial policies effectively and address practical matters thoroughly", effectively enhancing the sense of gain among grassroots citizens.

The Community Living Room project originated from a key initiative proposed by Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu in his 2023 Policy Address. Since its launch, it has received great attention, care, and support from both the Central and HKSAR governments. It is the due responsibility of businesses and public figures to devote themselves to grassroots livelihood services and contribute to the harmony and stability of Hong Kong society. It is hoped that the Mong Kok Community Living Room will serve as a "warm haven" for grassroots families, providing growth space for young people and easing daily pressures of parents, thereby putting into practice the original intention of patriotism and love for Hong Kong and serving the community. The platform will serve residents with dedication, foster neighborly harmony, and jointly build a better home with greater warmth and a stronger sense of belonging.

It is expected that this project will become a "second home" for grassroots families, a hub for neighborhood support, and a platform for mutual growth.

The project is funded by a donation from Ms. Cheng Cheung Ling, President of the Hong Kong Chinese Friendship Association and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Sino Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd., subsidized by the Community Care Fund, and operated by the New Home Association. The project aims to benefit 500 "subdivided unit" households and 80,000 grassroots residents annually. With a "family-oriented" design concept, it creates a friendly, open, and belonging shared space, providing members with a safe and comfortable living environment.
