- Mr. Eric Tse has served as Executive Director of Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited (SBP GROUP, 1177.HK) since 2019. In 2020, he was appointed Chairman of Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (CTTQ), and since 2022, he has served as Chief Executive Officer of SBP Group and Chairman of Beijing Tide Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s degree in Management from Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Social and Administrative Pharmacy at China Pharmaceutical University. He has received numerous honors, including being named one of the “Top 10 Outstanding Chinese Americans” and recognized as an “Outstanding Individual for Contributions to Jiangsu Manufacturing Development.”
Mr. Tse currently serves as a member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a member of the 14th National Committee of the All-China Youth Federation, Vice Chairman of the 13th Shaanxi Youth Federation, and a member of the 7th Election Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong CPPCC Youth Association, a member of the Digital Economy Committee of the APEC China Business Council, a member of the Board of Global Shapers Community under the World Economic Forum, Deputy Director of the Technology Innovation Committee of the Belt and Road General Chamber of Commerce, and Executive Vice President of the Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Association.
Since taking office as Chief Executive Officer of SBP Group, Mr. Tse has advanced the Group’s development around four major strategies: organizational integration, comprehensive innovation, internationalization, and digitalization. He oversees the Group’s and its member companies’ operations and management, driving strategic planning, organizational development, talent development, investment integration, and the establishment of SBP Group as a leading world-class pharmaceutical company from China.
Under his leadership, SBP Group has remained firmly committed to innovation-driven growth, focusing on four major areas: oncology, hepatology/cardiometabolism, respiratory/autoimmunity, and surgery/analgesia. By integrating internal R&D capabilities with business development initiatives, the Group continues to accelerate the deployment of novel targets, platforms, and technologies, while strengthening its innovation ecosystem and global R&D infrastructure. Its subsidiaries, CTTQ and Beijing Tide, have been recognized for more than a decade among authoritative rankings including the “Top 100 Pharmaceutical Industrial Enterprises in China” and “Demonstration Industrial Enterprises with Pharmaceutical R&D Product Pipelines in China.” The Group has undertaken more than 160 national and provincial-level scientific research projects, holds over 2,100 granted patents, and has received multiple prestigious awards, including the China Patent Gold Award and the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
Beyond corporate management, Mr. Tse is deeply committed to youth development in Hong Kong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He actively engages in discussions on key topics such as Hong Kong’s integration into the nation’s overall development, the continued success of “One Country, Two Systems,” and the city’s transition from stability to prosperity. Through these efforts, he promotes greater understanding and cooperation between young people in the Mainland and Hong Kong, contributing to Hong Kong’s long-term prosperity and stability.
