- Since 2015, Theresa Tse has served as Chairwoman of the Board of Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited (SBP Group, 1177.HK) and Vice Chairwoman of Chia Tai Pharmaceutical Group. In 2017, she served as the Director of Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (CTTQ) and Vice Chairwoman of Beijing Tide Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Ms. Theresa Tse holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She has been listed on Forbes' "Top 100 Businesswomen in China" eight times and was selected for Bloomberg Businessweek's "Bloomberg 50" in 2024.
Since taking office, Ms. Tse has led the company's strategic transformation. By continuously increasing R&D investment, establishing global innovation platforms, and advancing strategic investments and acquisitions, she has accelerated the transformation and upgrading of the Company’s business structure. Under her leadership, SBP Group has continued to strengthen resource integration and global partnerships, establishing multi-level collaborations with multinational pharmaceutical companies including AstraZeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim, GlaxoSmithKline, and Sanofi. The Group has also completed strategic acquisitions of companies including Laekna Therapeutics and Hejia Bio, significantly enhancing its innovation capabilities and global competitiveness.
Adhering to the brand philosophy of "Science for a healthier world", SBP Group focuses on four major areas: oncology, hepatology/cardiometabolism, respiratory/autoimmunity, and surgery/analgesia. The Group continues to accelerate the translation of innovative achievements and expand its global market presence. In recent years, the Company has steadily increased its R&D investment as a percentage of revenue, while its innovative pipeline has entered a period of accelerated value realization. Its innovative medicine business has become a key growth engine driving the Company’s high-quality development.
While pursuing innovation-driven growth, Ms. Tse places great emphasis on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. She has led SBP Group and its member companies in actively participating in charitable initiatives and fulfilling CP Group’s business philosophy of “Benefit the Country, Benefit the People, Benefiting the Company.” She has also promoted the establishment of an ESG governance framework centered on “CARE” (Cure, Accessible, Relationship, Environmental) while continuously enhancing management practices in areas including carbon neutrality planning, medicine accessibility, employee development, and responsible supply chains.
Under Ms. Tse’s leadership, SBP Group was included as a constituent stock of the Hang Seng Index in 2018 and became a constituent stock of the Hang Seng Stock Connect China Biotech 50 Index in 2020. The Group has been listed among the “Top 50 Global Pharmaceutical Companies” for seven consecutive years, recognized among Forbes's (Asia) “Best Companies in Asia-Pacific” for three consecutive years, and its MSCI ESG Rating has been upgraded to AA. Its core subsidiaries, CTTQ and Beijing Tide Pharmaceutical have been repeatedly recognized among the “Top 100 Pharmaceutical Industrial Enterprises in China.”
